Developed this spool holder hanging from a shelf to feed my 3D printer with soft wet-noodle-like TPU.
Indeed, TPU softer than 95A usually can't be routed through the printer's PTFE tube that feeds the extruder. Instead, the PTFE tube must be removed and the filament be fed directly into the extruder. Example of such instructions: TPU 85A&90A printing guide for H2 series
Hence this direct-feed TPU spool holder. It clamps onto the shelf thanks to a standard 2" (50mm) binder clip, or a spring clamp, which makes it super easy to install / remove when needed:
The spool just mounts on the drum, which then slides into the holder:
Worked like a charm, au poil.
Fusion360 (messy), STEP and 3MF files are all on Github and MakerWorld
Feel free to copy, remix, publish, whatever.
Happy noodles-printing to all !

Settings
- 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height
- 3 walls, 3 top, 3 bottom
- 20% adaptive cubic infill
- Support: tree organic, 10 degrees threshold, on build plate only
Once printed just break away the CAD supports under the drum. Done.
My shelf is 3/4" (19mm) thick, but if a different thickness is needed just change the shelf_thickness CAD parameter:
